one of these days I will draw something worthwhile, lol

somethin' I did last week.

Vesc's totally like "yeah...imma eat this"

Vesc is one of my earliest characters. He used to be my neopet (a wocky). His current incarnation is as Veil (the creepy "elf" guy with the really long ears that I keep drawing), but I still like to draw his original animal form from time-to-time.

Vesc, 2004

Also, since I am taking a stroll down memory lane, anyway, here are some of my favorite old Noodle Animals that I drew for the original pet shop:

Been meaning to upload them here for a while. I'm glad I've improved at least a little since then :)

Something of a thumbnail-rough sketch. I'd like to paint it with watercolors and/or acrylics, if I could. It has somewhat of a cryptic meaning I suppose, so maybe I will explain if I finish it. Who knows if I will get around to finishing it, though.

Sorry to say that I have not really started work, outside of thumbnails, on those art trades I was once so excited about (to those whom I'm art trading with). Sorry guys, I will get to them soon.

The Zoo I Never Went To

A tubby tiger.

I haven't decided if I'll be uploading this one to DA or not yet, I'll think about it for a bit.
(EDIT: fixed the backside a bit. and now it's going on DA because I might as well 8D)

Silas and Chester + SCADet linkage

Acrylic-Gouache with digital shading. I like the effect to some extent, but I'm not sure it's worth the time it takes just to paint the flat colors. I will play around with it some, though!  I'm just happy I remembered how to mix my colors (I used all the acrylic-gouaches from my past color theory know, all the ones you have to mix to even get PRIMARY colors? lol).

Maybe we'll see more of these guys! Silas is the small stubby one,  Chester is the big one (Chester is the same kitty from THIS POST, just developed more)

I've recently added quite a few more SCADies to my  "other people to check out" section to the right, BTW, so check 'em out, anonymous reader! My SCAD classmates and friends are amazing people!

(Honestly, I'm still waiting for WHITNEY and JESS to get some blogs! :P)

If anyone has an art blog or website they'd like me to link (and obviously I know you personally), just ask.
(I'm trying to avoid linking DAs/SAs/FAs/etc. though)

"A Pretty Butterfly"

(drawing of Rorschach from Watchmen, BTW. He's like Batman/The Question finally gone over the edge.)

EDIT: here's another version I had saved that I forgot to put up

It's not my favorite because the top version, with the bright colors and overbearing texture and all, kind of flattens out so you don't notice so much all the anatomy/foreshortening issues. In this version, with more detailed shading and that blue light puts the figures more in a 3-D realm, making the mistakes obvious. Still, it has its charm, and took me like forever.
