I'll probably clean up, ink and color this one a bit later if I still like it by then. The pose is a little weird (Though it looked interesting and creepy gesturally, with the curves in the upper body and the contrasting straightness of the legs)!
So I didn't make it into Calarts ): My letter came on Wednesday. Although not entirely surprised, I'm not going to say I'm not extremely disappointed- not at the circumstances, just at myself.
In the meantime, sorry if I seem a bit off lately, or seemed off last quarter, even.
These shots look ok on the computer I'm on right now, but who knows how they will look on another computer :/! I just don't get Maya, and I think it shows in my work. Still, I have tried, and it's an improvement from last year.
AAAAND I just got a youtube account so I could upload my animation finals. If you happen to be my friend on Facebook though, I would highly suggest finding these in my videos on Facebook since the video quality there is a lot better than these youtube files!
The character pops up, sees an apple and gets excited over it (this part people either get or they don't- it's the part where her shoulders go all the way up into her cheeks. I could probably add a bit more to the body language to make it more obvious), draws on the apple, shows the viewer what she's drawn, sniffs, takes a bite of the apple, munches, then draws some more on the apple.
The criteria of the project was to stay rough (meaning not get into details, just simple shapes), express emotions and such through body language, only animate the character from the waist-up, and make it no more or less than 15 seconds long.
I'll be working on this outside of class to make it better and to actually get a portfolio piece out of it. It would be cool to clean it up and maybe even color it, just for the practice. There's a number of problems in the animation I'd like to fix first though, but I won't list all of my qualms here e_e.
This is my Motion Studies final done in After Effects. Half the battle was learning the program by myself in a week's time or so, because the class wasn't much of a class at times...
Thank you to all the people who have said nice things about this animation. It comes up often at Monty by various people, and I would just like to say I do appreciate the kind word, even if I am not so crazy about this cartoon myself!
Both voices were done by me, by the way! If you ever need some stupid voices for your animations, give me a call...
